Manager's Meeting August 16, 2025 Overview.

Admin
• Ballots are now due
• All-star game at Louie Bloch with HR derby. Discussed renting a pitching machine. Will make video with advertisements for ...
• Added extra ump so we only use one of Ed Smith’s people. Goal is to add two more umps this winter.
• Ask for umps so we can get more umpires.
• CrossBar has new landing page. The page is being built.
• Live CrossBar will go live November 1st. Has mobile application called BoxScore which you can score, keep stats, and do lineup.
• Will have to have somebody in dugout to keep score on BoxScore.
• BoxScore can have payment for players. Wil determine how we can structure payment so that we can handle situations where managers handle initial team dues, and FAs pay league to register.
• Have players under 54 playing on 55+ roster. Will not offer that again this next season because we should have enough players.
• GOTW still building steam. Need to get 1000 subs in order to monetize YouTube.
• Teams need to send in high quality photos for the website.
• Waivered players for the season are on the umpires’ rules at the bottom.
• For playoffs if you have pitchers and catchers, or less than 9, petition the board quickly.
• For playoffs music only allowed for 15 seconds on GOTY.

Attendance
• missing: Rainiers, Reds.

Penalties
• for late game (Pirates). Money will go toward porta-potty.

Meeting
• Last manager’s meeting until EOY meeting in Nov or January.

Schedule
• Playoffs start Aug 17th for 35+
• Apollo has event on 21st 7:00-9:00 for free agents.
• First team out must play second game for seeding purposes. All costs (umps, fields, etc.) are already schedule for these second-round games

FA Events
• Free agent scrimmages with Cubs 7/17
• Following week lowest seed will play FA team at Hockinson Park
• FA event on 21st at Apollo Hit House

Fall Ball
• Same rules as pre-season. No umpires. Base coaches call outs on the field.
• No borrowing players, roster is locked. If you do not have 9 players, must petition the board for a means of getting players.

Fields
• Clean up after each game. Stands, fields and dugouts. Leave no trash
• Re-tarp fields
• Will be food truck at Camas High school for championship games (Prairie Tavern)

Manager's Meeting July 19, 2025 Overview.

Admin
• Attendance: missing As, Dodgers.
• Board initiatives
- Protest
- Attendance – going to fine Pirates going forward, then will be represented by somebody else going forward. If fines are not paid, they will not be playoff eligible.
• Next meeting is at Auto’s Pub on Aug 16th 11:00am
• All Star Ballots– 35+
- Will have a sandlot style player pick with 1st place and 2nd place team as captains.
- Need ballots by the next managers meeting Saturday August 16th. Need pitcher, catcher, 2 additional + 1 alternates.
- Picked up another sponsor–Stand Sure Game Ready gloves. Can give discounts on gloves
- Indoor home run derby at Apollo
• Added another in-house umpire which means we rely less and less Ed Smith and costs will go down for umpires.
• BoxScore will start a pilot in August of 2025
• Payment system could be setup for users to register on the BoxScore

Free Agent list
• Last free agent list coming out next week. Must email board if you pick somebody from the FA list.
• Limit of 20 players on the roster.

Protest results
• Player was added to a 55+ team from 45+ team. Player was not rostered on any other 55+ team, and was legitimately added to the roster and was not considered a borrowed player. Need language in the rules to clarify that inter-division players do not constitute borrowed player.

Fields
• Need to make sure fields are cared for and garbage is picked up after the game.
• Last Skyview game is tomorrow
• Played a game at Louis Bloch. Possibly play more there
• Make-up game on Hockinson tomorrow.
• Discussed live stream vs. posting videos afterward. Going to do some post processing and post HD video and clips.

GOTY (Game of the Week-YouTube):
If we get 1000 subscribers, we get our channel monetized

Rules Discussed designated runners and rules for when they can be subbed out.

Manager's Meeting June 21, 2025 Overview.

Attendance: All Board members in attendance except JV (ClintD) and Website (EricJ).

Admin
• Attendance: missing (Pirates). Discussed rule for penalizing non-attending members.
• Will fine ALL teams in violation totals and they will not be playoff eligible until they pay. WIll inform them and the league via email about the penalty.
• Next meeting will be at Prairie Tavern. Saturday July 19 at 11:00am at their location in Brush Prairie.
• Vice Beer, Apollo Hit House, sponsoring the league.

Schedule
• Free Agent List will come out July 1 and Aug 1.
• Rosters are locked for playoffs as of June 1.

More Admin
• Added one new in-house ump. Still have to use Dave Smith’s people for some games.
• August 1st, migrating from sportsEngine to BoxScore. Will do a dry-run in August to validate that it will work for us, final upload and live post November 1st.
• Budget is aligned with actual expenditures at the halfway point. Could possibly have surplus.
• Make sure to collect items from the from dugout. People are leaving stuff in dugouts.
• Need to promote game of the week.
• Discussed being on the field mic’d up for GOTY.
• Need to post clips to social media. Need teams to send clips or note at what point in the game highlights happen.
• Need to get 1000 subscribers and then we can be monetized.
• Discussed posting commercials on game of the week. Possible to insert advertisements into the video.
• Need players to subscribe to our channel. Need to hit over 1000 subscribers.
• Need teams to submit facts about each person to the GOTY so that announcers have items to discuss.
• Need to make sure that videos posted with the tags of SWABL, make sure it is submitted to the league and posted via SWABL channels, not private posts with SWABL tags, dilutes the brand.
• Discussed Camas JV field for usage instead of FVLL. Decision TBD.
• Need high-resolution photos of games submitted for SWABL website and FB.
• Considering hiring a person to take professionally photos

35+ Division
• Discussed Double Headers with high heat. WIll postpone game if it is too hot and the manager’s discretion says that it would be hazardous to play in those conditions (e.g. only have 8-9 guys, showing signs up heat distress etc.). Game time situation.

45/55+
• Still need one catcher

Fields
• Must lock up and clean up on fields. Received complaint leaving trash in stands and/or dugout.
• Need some help on getting Hockinson mound fixed. It needs clay in certain areas. Will schedule a time.
• Penalties for lack of cleanup discussed. Need to maintain field and cleanup trash.

Rules:
• Discussed the rules being posted on the website. Restructured the site so that it is easier to find information.
• Waivered players on the last page of the umpire rules on the website.
• Can borrow a player if they need to play, can’t hit in top five or pitch. If needed to pitch, must have opposing manager’s agreement.
• Discussed rules for keeping music at a reasonable level so that it is not disturbing to other teams and the communities.
• Motion to only play music from a handheld device raised, seconded, and passed a vote by the managers.
• Discussed the fact that YouTube will ban an account for 90 days if it hears music longer than 15 seconds.
• 35+ agreed to an All-start game, 45 and 55+ agreed to not play.
• For playoffs, top team has a bye in each division.
